Image Guidelines

Images are powerful tools for storytelling. They can grab attention, evoke emotions, and communicate ideas more effectively than words alone. That’s why we encourage you to include high-quality images in your articles!

In order to maintain a consistent and professional reading experience, our publishing partners have established firm image guidelines. This article will walk you through the do’s and don’ts of submitting images for your articles.

  • Required Dimensions: 1200×600 pixels

  • File Type: JPG or PNG

  • Quality: High-resolution

  • Layout: Horizontal/Landscape

  • Maximum Number of Images: Four images per article

Accepted Images

  • A clear and crisp photo

  • Contains more than 50% of negative space

  • If the subject is a person – must be visible from the top of the head to the shoulders

  • Company Logos or legible words can be used to fill space

  • White, transparent, empty, solid, or single-color backgrounds

  • Blurry photos

  • Texts that are blurry or too small

  • AI-Generated images

Photo Credits:

All submitted images must have complete photo credits according to our publishing partner’s guidelines.

  • Acceptable photo credit formats include:

    • Client name

    • The subject of the photo

    • PR firm name (if applicable)

    • Photographer/photography studio name

  • Important: When photographer/photography studio names are included, our editorial team will verify potential copyright concerns.

Photo Licensing:

  • Submitted photos must be licensable for use in distribution and promotional content by the publications. For more information about the use of stock images in article drafts, click here.

  • We offer access to a library of licensed stock photos through Unsplash. You can browse and select an image directly from Unsplash and simply insert the image link into your intake form.

Examples of Rejected Images

1. The subject is not fully visible in the picture.

2. Explicit/sexual images

3. Solid-colored/gradient backgrounds

Examples of Permitted Images

1. Subject fully visible with background space filled (>80%).

2. The logo is clearly visible.

3. Negative space does not exceed 80% of the image.
